PROGRAMME FEATURES
Run in partnership with Winchester University, our School Direct programme offers the very best in teacher training to a select cohort.
The number of students on our programme has been carefully selected to benefit you as a student. You will be known and recognised within the Alliance, receiving personal attention and opportunities. It also includes:

12 core training days at the University

full-time learning alongside our expert teachers who have a wealth of knowledge, experience and strategies to pass on

specialist focus training days within the Alliance

a minimum of 2 placements in two different phases and schools

opportunities for specialist short term placements during enrichment time - Early Years Foundation Stage, SEND, English as an Additional Language, Maths, secondary experience days or behaviour for learning

3 assessed assignments

on-going assessment of the quality of teaching and learning
What are we looking for in our trainees?
We are looking for professionals who have a passion for making a difference for children and who are excited to be working with them and their families. We would like to see applicants who have a deepening understanding of child development and of what inspires and motivates children as learners. In addition we are looking for candidates who have these attributes:

C grade (or above) at GCSE in English, Mathematics and Science. Specific equivalency tests may be accepted in lieu of these

Pass in Literacy & Numeracy skills tests.

A 2:2, or above, honours degree in any subject. The degree will be assessed for suitability in conjunction with experience and skills.

Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks will be undertken.
